Friendship sentiments

Friends like you make this world a better place for me.

Love makes all things bearable.

Your friendship means so much .

Friends are the flowers in the garden of life.

If friends were flowers I’d pick you.

Good friends are for keeps.

A friend is someone who reaches for your hand and touches your heart.

A real friendship is being able to ask anything and yet, never needing to.

Consider yourself hugged.

A bright and breezy “Hi” to a warm and sunny friend.

A hug in a letter to make your day better – consider yourself hugged.

You make people happy just by being you. Hope your day is happy too.

You’ve touched my heart in so many ways… thanks for being a true friend.

Don’t know what I’d do without a friend like YOU!

Pursuit of Happiness- Friendship

Dear Fellow Crafters,

Over the summer I read a great book, called “The Mason Jar” by James Russell Lingerfelt. It is a  work of fiction, not a craft book. I keep a Quote Journal and one of the main character’s quotes was so inspiring that not only did I write it down but I saved it for you too!

Great book about love, loss and giving of oneself
Great book about love, loss and giving of oneself

” …there’s something very special about finding someone who can relate to us, who for a period of time brings contentment and relieves us of all loneliness and despair. When we see people as gifts, rather than possessions, we learn to hold them rather than cling to them. My own experience has taught me that if you love people and let them be themselves in your presence, you’ll never be short of friends. When you don’t judge people and you instead allow them space to grow, they’ll always remember you because they know they were loved unconditionally.”

I have several very good friends that I don’t see often. Oh yeah, we email back and forth but the great thing about our friendship is that when we do see each other, we pick up our conversation where we left off! It reminds me of a scene in Kevin Costner/Whitney Houston’s movie “The Bodyguard”. Kevin’s character is playing chess with his father (Ralph Waite). “So how long have you been playing this game?” “About 5 years, no 6” was the answer.

When we pursue friendship, we give of ourselves and we receive so much in return. So, do  you have a best friend?

‘Til next time,

Pursuit of Happiness

Pursuit of Happiness

Dear Fellow Crafters,

May is the month of Friendships. In our family, May is a very busy month! There’s Mothers’ Day, my birthday, our Granddaughter’s Birthday (the day after mine), and Memorial Day. My husband is a Marine Corps veteran and was born on a National “holiday”. He prefers to celebrate his birthday on Memorial Day. So we celebrate all month the friendships and family relationships that bring us love and joy.

In thinking about this theme, I first concentrated on my family and how we are all connected. Each of us comes to our family with our unique talents, experiences and beliefs. While L. is still a toddler, she too is forming her own set of wants and needs and it will be some time before we see her true self emerge.

In all things you create this month remember what makes you happy. Write each “thing” down in a journal (for hints on creating a journal, check out my blog ) or use a rubber stamp or other media to express it. When darkness falls upon your door, your happiest memories will always be with you.
